Not all Massage is the Same!
♥ NOT ALL MASSAGE IS THE SAME! ♥
This week, I had the pleasure of working with a new client at 33 weeks pregnant with her first baby.
Following two previous pregnancy massage treatments at her local salon, she was disappointed that the therapist didn’t target her key areas of concern and that she didn’t feel much different afterwards.
I hear this often, particularly during pregnancy when there is so much overly cautious concern around massage and therefore treatments can be a bit ‘fluffy’. In my opinion, if ever there is a time for an effective massage, it is during and post-pregnancy!
She came to see me after searching for something ‘more specialist’ with the aim of targeting tension in her shoulders and back. This is what she kindly shared with me afterwards:
“Thank you so much for yesterday, it was absolutely amazing and I felt incredibly relaxed. Very hard to go back to work after that! Definitely helped ease my tension, my shoulders are feeling great.
I really enjoyed the breathing techniques at the start to relax me, and also just having your hands on my back to ground me and relax me into the treatment was very comforting. I really loved the fact we were on the floor, I haven’t had that before and it felt like I was being massaged in bed, which again was heavenly! I’d honestly say the best massage I’ve ever had – the fact that you tailored it to my needs was fantastic so I felt like the areas I was having issues with were fully worked on.”
Always a pleasure to help and leave a mumma feeling so much better than when she arrived!
