Letting Go in Autumn

When we connect with the signs of nature all around us in Autumn, we can embrace some of the same energy in our own lives.

Over the Summer, trees have been very busy making energy from their leaves. In Winter, the trees no longer need to use their energy for these leaves that are no longer nourishing them. By letting them go, trees can preserve their energy and resources for the colder months ahead and thus arrive into Spring with vitality and the reserves required for the energetically more active months.

Autumn marks this shift between the two, with the gradual slowing down, quietening and letting go that we see all around us.

How can you embrace some of these qualities of slowness and letting go in your own life, to preserve and restore your energy and resources over Winter?

I was once given an affirmation card at a yoga retreat and it sits in a prominent spot in my home so that I walk past it multiple times per day. In today’s fast-paced life, it is a useful reminder to us all…

“Try living at a slower pace…”
